Lewis Dürk LDx7 Clevenger

$8950

Acting on wishes expressed by numerous musicians, Steve Lewis and Dietmar Dürk decided to integrate the legendary C. F. Schmidt design into their horn collection. It is distinguished by its bell form and the unique valve cluster comprised of three rotary valves plus a Perinet F/Bb thumb valve. The intensive effort and close collaboration of these two masters in their field brought forth the new LDx7 - which, after some modifications in cooperation with Dale Clevenger, principal horn of the Chicago Symphony Orchestra, became the model LD CLEVENGER.

This horn was manufactured in 2015 and is in excellent condition. I made some modifications such as the addition Ron Pinc's leadpipe (designed specifically for the bend of this horn), finger pads, and slide spacers to bring the pitch of the instrument down.

This horn has won me auditions for Fifth House Enesmble, the Millar Brass Ensemble, and the South Bend Symphony Orchestra. It's a wonderful instrument that I'm looking to find a new home.

1923 Geyer - Schmidt Model

$8450

Selling this extremely well cared for original Geyer Schmidt model made in 1923. This horn has the classic Geyer sound with the technical advantages of a piston valve designed by C.F. Schmidt. It was my main instrument from 2011 to 2015 and the sound that won me my first orchestral job. The horn has been played all over the world and is in great shape for its age. I made some modifications such as the addition Ron Pinc's leadpipe (designed specifically for the bend of this horn), finger pads, a custom built piston valve button, and a cut bell.

Includes the original bell, a hand hammered Dürk bell, and a Marcus Bonna MB5 case.
